Natalie Small: Surf Therapy and Groundswell Community

Natalie Smalls, MFT shares with us about the power of community, relationship to the ocean, and how holding safer and braver spaces in surfing can support womxn to reclaim their healing, power and belonging. She talks about her own path of healing and how the ocean guided her into living a life now that is beyond anything she had ever imagined and how she now gets to see this unfold in those she works with all around the world in her program Groundswell Community Project.

About Natalie

Natalie is a licensed California Marriage and Family Therapist with my back ground in utilizing art, somatic, and eco therapy for trauma recovery. She founded Groundswell Community Project as a surf therapy non-profit in 2016 with the mission and vision of holding safer and brave spaces for intersectional communities of womxn to reclaim their healing, power, and belonging in mother oceans waves together.

Since 2016 they have developed the first trauma informed somatic surf therapy curriculum and trainings that are accredited by CAMFT for CEUs and have trained and support surf therapy programs around the world. Connect with Natalie:
